Subject: Need to Introduce Skill Development Programmes from School Level

Madam,

Through the columns of your esteemed news website, I would like to draw the attention of the Hon’ble Education Minister of Tripura towards the need for introducing skill development programmes for students from the school level.

Education should not only provide academic knowledge but also equip students with practical skills that can help them build successful careers. If students are introduced to vocational and skill-based training at an early age, they will have more opportunities to develop their abilities according to their interests and talents.

Skill development programmes in areas such as computer applications, communication, digital skills, basic technical work, entrepreneurship, handicrafts, agriculture, and other vocational fields can be introduced gradually in schools. Such programmes would help students gain practical knowledge alongside their regular studies.

When these students become adults, the skills they acquire during their school years can significantly improve their employability and help them become more self-reliant. It may also encourage entrepreneurship and reduce dependence on traditional employment opportunities.

I therefore request the Hon’ble Education Minister to consider introducing a well-planned skill development programme from the school level across Tripura. This would be a valuable investment in the future of our students and could help prepare them for the changing demands of the job market.

I hope the concerned authorities will give serious consideration to this important issue and take suitable steps for the benefit of the students of Tripura.
