Lieutenant Saurav Sinha’s Achievement

Lieutenant Saurav Sinha of Jalai village in Kailashahar, Tripura, has achieved his childhood dream of joining the Indian Army. He was commissioned as a Lieutenant on September 5, 2026, at the Passing Out Parade of the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gaya, Bihar. Saurav completed his schooling at Bimal Singh Academy and Assam Rifles Public School before earning a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Tripura Institute of Technology, Agartala. He cleared the Service Selection Board (SSB) examination on his third attempt after facing two unsuccessful attempts. He then underwent nearly a year of rigorous military training at OTA, developing discipline, physical endurance, mental strength, and leadership qualities. His parents, Subodh Chandra Sinha, a retired government teacher, and Asha Sinha, a traditional Manipuri singer, strongly supported his aspirations. Saurav’s success has brought immense pride to his family, Kailashahar, and the entire Unakoti district.
