Tripura Launches App-Based Cab and Tourism Services
Tripura marked a new chapter in modern transport and tourism with the launch of app-based Uber cab services and a Tourism Information Centre at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala. The initiative was inaugurated by Transport Minister Sushanta Choudhury. The ceremony also virtually connected Agartala and Jogendranagar railway stations, where app-based cab services were introduced simultaneously.
The initiative is expected to provide passengers and tourists with safer, easier and more convenient transportation from major travel hubs. The Tourism Information Centre will further assist visitors with information on tourist destinations, travel facilities and other essential services.
Transport Secretary, Transport Commissioner, IGP (Law and Order), Director of Agartala Airport and Director of Tourism were among those present at the programme. The initiative reflects the state government\'s efforts to embrace digital technology and strengthen Tripura\'s image as a modern, safe and tourist-friendly destination.
