Tripura Tea Makes European Debut with 23.31-MT Export Shipment

Agartala, September 11,2026: Tripura tea has marked a significant milestone by making its debut in European markets with an export shipment of 23.31 metric tonnes of premium tea. The consignment was dispatched from the Durgabari Central Tea Processing Factory in Agartala on September 11, 2026. The shipment is expected to strengthen Tripura’s position in the international tea market and create new opportunities for local tea producers. Tripura Tea Development Corporation (TTDC) Chairman Samir Ranjan Ghosh and Commerce Secretary Kiran Gitte were present during the dispatch. The development comes as the state works to boost its tea industry. Tripura is also establishing its own tea auction centre to support growers and improve marketing. Meanwhile, Tripureswari tea is being distributed through local ration shops, increasing access to the state’s tea products.
