Tripura’s Aradhya Das Crowned Undefeated National Under-13 Chess Champion
Agartala, September 13, 2026: Tripura’s young chess sensation, Candidate Master Aradhya Das, created history by emerging as the undefeated champion at the National Under-13 Chess Championship held in Puducherry. The Class VII student of Sri Krishna Mission School scored an impressive 9.5 points from 11 rounds to claim the national title.
In the final round, Aradhya defeated Kerala’s Janaki S.D. in a fiercely contested game lasting 89 moves, securing the championship crown. She is a student of Matrix Chess Academy and has become the third chess player from Tripura to win a national chess championship after FIDE Master Prosenjit Dutta and International Master Arshia Das.
Following her remarkable victory, Aradhya has earned direct qualification to represent India in the World, Asian and Commonwealth Chess Championships.
Upon her arrival at Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport, she received a warm welcome from members of the state chess association and her family, who felicitated her with garlands and sweets.
