Urban Tripura Generates 352.78 MT Solid Waste Daily

Agartala,28th August ,2026: Tripura’s urban areas generate around 352.78 metric tonnes of solid waste every day, Chief Minister Manik Saha informed the Assembly. The state has 20 designated urban areas responsible for waste generation and management. According to the government, 57.18 per cent of the daily waste is being processed scientifically, while the remaining waste highlights the need for stronger collection, segregation and disposal systems. The government is focusing on improving urban sanitation and waste-management infrastructure to ensure cleaner cities. Greater public participation and responsible waste segregation are also essential for achieving sustainable waste management.
